"Emily was seventeen, green jacket and tight black jeans. Now she's got a thing for Bailey Lane, and they're doing things that I can't explain. She's been sad since her mother died, so I'll just sit back and I'll bide my time. But I'm still sleeping in another room, and, boy, I hope she comes around soon. 'Cause I've been waiting in the door way, to go to my car and go for a drive. You're still looking the other way, and I think you'll take your time getting home tonight. Getting home tonight. So he went out and he hit the road. He took his time and took the long way home. But in the end, he'll still kiss the ground, and make amends for what he's found out. That girl called, but he was on his way, on a stretcher helicopter, some say. But I know that he'll make it through. Oh, I hope he comes around soon.... 'Cause I've been waiting in the doorway, to go to my car and go for a drive. You're still looking the other way, and I think you'll take your time getting home tonight. Getting home tonight. Look, when we met we couldn't get along, until we met each other in song, singing lines about how we couldn't give up on all the things that we loved in suburbia. 'Cause I've been waiting in the doorway, to go to my car and go for a drive. You're still looking the other way, and I think you'll take your time getting home tonight. Getting home tonight...."

"Why don't we pick up the pieces, fill our hearts with what pleases us? 'Why don't you let your hair down, and show us your thighs?' another gentleman replies. 'I guess that you needed us more than we needed you, so can't you find a way to please us?' Off to another realm, is this the final goodbye? Our veins run deep with all the answers that you seek to all the secrets that you keep, but deep in the heart of a world that's expired, I have unrealistic desires, so where do I stand now? Where do I stand now? It's like we're playing cowboys and engines, running in circles, but it doesn't hurt at all. It's like we're sleeping on park benches, playing the game, but I don't wanna play at all. Approximation: Ten years. Affiliation: Twelve. Exploration: Endless. Indication: None. 'Cause your veins run deep with all the answers that you seek to all the secrets that you keep, but deep in the heart of a world that's expired, I have unrealistic desires, so where do I stand now? Where do I stand now?"

"All of my girlfriends don't know each other exist, yet all of my girlfriends think we're attached at the hip. And all of my girlfriends, yeah, they all think they're the shit. And all of my girlfriends, all wear it if the shoe fits. Oh, just when you think you've got it figured out, you get caught up in this dark design called life. Oh, a web entanglement that captures it's prey, and, in this case, it's me. It's me... All of the people, they get confused and they quit when the whole time, if they'd just accept it, they'd be living large. That's why when I go out, I'm down for whatever happens next, but none of my girlfriends seem to get that concept yet. Oh, just when you think you've got it figured out, you get caught up in this dark design called life. Oh, a web entanglement that captures it's prey, and, in this case, it's me. It's me... All of my girlfriends don't know each other exist, but all of my girlfriends think we're attached at the hip."

"We live in a cloud in the mornings before we skip to work. You never came home last night, so I'll drink off the hurt. And you're wishing things were different, but nothing ever stops, and there's nothing to hold on to, to let you know you're real. I was older then, I'm younger than that now. Last night I got laid again, but how will I ever know if I was doing it right? Was I doing it right? Was I doing it right at all? Now that the dreams have faded, we're going out for lunch. And once the hangover wears off, we seem too strange to some. So we'll crack open another bottle, and hope we impress some girls. And tomorrow we'll bitch and we'll moan and complain, but for now it's tonight, and we're getting laid again. I was older then, I'm younger than that now. Last night I got laid again, but how will I ever know if I was doing it right? Was I doing it right? Was I doing it right at all?"

"Remember when we could say that the days shouldn't ever end? 'Cause today we're here in remembrance of a good friend, who's roaming the clouds, and breaking down walls of deception, and to me it's opened my eyes. 'Cause when I sleep, I dream of what could have been. I hope you've changed your mind, and we can still be friends. You kicked me out without a place to go, but in the end I hope the clouds will part ways.... And I'll know... that one day my time will come, and I'll meet someone to replace you and replenish my funds, but until then, I hope you still have love to lend, and we can still call each other friends."

Fever Dreams 03:56
"If you want the rainbow, you must tolerate the rain, and if you wanna be somebody, be ready any day for the chance to catch it like a dream, but things aren't always what they seem to be. 'Cause on any given day, you could spark the change, but you'll ignore the struggle and you'll stay the same. You need leisure dreams. You need a song to sing. Sometimes it gets too much, you get by on my touch and that's wrong, but I hope you understand. These fever dreams won't last long, and we can both move on. If you can shape it in your mind, then you can find it in your life, just don't over-think, and roll with the tide. If love is just a word, then you don't have to believe, but there's more to life than rolling in sheets. I need leisure dreams. I need a song to sing. Sometimes it gets too much, I get by on your touch, and that's wrong, but I hope you understand. These fever dreams won't last long, and we can both move on. I beg for the struggle, so that I can grow. And I hope for a life, full of love for everyone I know. 'Cause we all need leisure dreams. We all need a song to sing, 'Cause sometimes it gets too much, we get by on a touch, and that's wrong. I hope we understand that these fever dreams can't last long, and we can both move on...."

"I got caught on my way back down, now you can catch me drowning in a river of my own. What's the point of overreacting when it's all a bunch of junk? The view from way down here, I can't see so clear, when it's all a bunch of gears running the world. And people think they know, but they reap what they sew, and keep it all to themselves. I've got a way with words, but you've got a way of running your mouth. We're fleeing leaves to find the summer season, but we're all alone. Money lost is more grass gained, and we're gonna keep it all to ourselves. 'Cause the view from way down here, I can't see so clear, when it's all a bunch of gears running the world. And people think they know, but they reap what they sew, and keep it all to themselves. I've got a way with words. But you've got a way of running your mouth. It stings like a kiss on the lips, my heart beats to the sway of your hips. There was a time when we shared a kiss. I felt the knives from your chapped lips, when you left an aftertaste... You left an aftertaste.... of black licorice, If this is truly who I am, I cannot disagree. This is what I wanted. So why does it mean so much to me? It can't, I guess, If I am who i plan to be. It's getting late and the party is winding down. Half-awake, listening to drinks diminish, and I'm almost finished..."

Such Is Life 07:02
"It Isn't every day, we make the same mistakes we've already made. Today, I lost track of the time, and sat and waited awhile for you to come by that old orange house, wandering, wondering, if the love will ever grow back again. A week. A month. A year. However long I've been staying here... I don't make enough money to be wasting my time with this bullshit anymore. I can't go out on dates, instead I buy shitty well drinks at the local bar. I could be getting to know someone else and finding out just where they live. Instead I'm whispering words of sweet nothing into the ear of a girl I hardly ever knew at all. And she seems to be liking it, but I can't quite tell yet. My mind's still on other things, while I've been tripping the day away. A week. A month. A year. However long I've been staying here. A year. Maybe two. I've lived in the basement. Between living situations. Doesn't anybody wanna play? I've been sitting here for days. Days and days and days, waiting for someone to say that everything will be okay, and I promise everything gets better, but it never does. It never does... So just lock the door behind me when I leave."
